Cookie Notice
Version 1.0 (12 Oct 2026) · KEMETIA for Touristic Services, trading as EGYPTIA · العربية
This Cookie Notice explains which small files and browser storage the EGYPTIA website places on your device, why each one is needed, how long it stays and how you can remove it. It applies to egyptiatours.com and to the traveller account, the partner area and the staff area that run on it. EGYPTIA is the trading name of KEMETIA for Touristic Services, Egypt, and the Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information more generally.
1. What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to keep and to send back on later visits, so that the website can recognise, for example, that you are already signed in. Browser session storage is a similar space inside the browser that a page can use while the tab is open; it is not sent to the website, and it disappears when you close the tab. Both are kept on your own device. A cookie set by the website you are visiting is called a first-party cookie; a cookie set by another company whose content is embedded in the page is a third-party cookie.
2. Our approach: only what the website needs to work
EGYPTIA uses only the cookies and browser storage listed in section 3. Every one of them is strictly necessary for a function that you ask for, such as signing in, keeping your account secure, or remembering the friend or partner whose link brought you to us. We use:
- no advertising cookies and no remarketing;
- no analytics or statistics tools, so we do not measure your visit with Google Analytics or any similar service;
- no tracking pixels from social networks or advertising platforms;
- no social-media buttons or embedded content that would let another company follow your visit.
Because every item is strictly necessary, the website does not show a cookie banner asking you to choose cookie settings: there is nothing optional to accept or refuse. If we ever add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your permission before setting it, you will be able to refuse it without losing access to the website, and we will update this notice and its version first.
3. The full list
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_…, wordpress_test_cookie | Keeps you signed in to your account and protects the sign-in | Until you sign out, at most 14 days |
| egy_device | Remembers this device after you sign in with a 6-digit code, so you are not asked for a code again | 30 days |
| egy_ref | Remembers the personal link of the friend who invited you (EGYPTIA Rewards) or of the EGYPTIA partner who recommended us, only when you arrive through such a link | 30 days |
| egy_mfa | Staff sign-in only: the two-step check | 10 minutes |
| egy_live_y, egy_live_u (browser session storage) | Keeps your place on a page while it refreshes | Until you close the tab |
4. More about each item
Sign-in cookies (wordpress_…). When you sign in to your account, these cookies tell the website on every page that the request comes from you, so that you see your own bookings and nobody else’s. The test cookie only checks that your browser accepts cookies at all, so that we can tell you if sign-in cannot work. The values are random and signed; they do not contain your password. Signing out removes them at once.
Remembered device (egy_device). When you sign in with a one-time 6-digit code sent by email, you can stay recognised on that device for 30 days. The cookie holds a random token; only a protected fingerprint of it is kept on our side, so the token cannot be rebuilt from our records. If you use a shared or public computer, sign out at the end, and the device will not be remembered.
Invitation and partner link (egy_ref). This cookie is set only when you open the website through a personal invitation link of an EGYPTIA Rewards member or through the link of an EGYPTIA partner, such as a travel agency. It holds only the code in that link, so that a booking you make within 30 days is credited to the right person. The first valid link you used counts, and a later link does not replace it. It does not identify you, and it is not used for anything else. When a partner link is opened, we also add one to a daily count of visitors for that partner; that count has no name, email or address in it.
Staff two-step check (egy_mfa). This cookie is used only on the staff sign-in, between the password and the authenticator code, and expires after ten minutes. Travellers and partners never receive it.
Page position (egy_live_y, egy_live_u). Some account pages refresh by themselves so that you see a new payment confirmation or message without reloading. These two entries in session storage keep your scroll position during that refresh, so the page does not jump back to the top. They stay inside your browser, are never sent to us, and disappear when you close the tab.
5. Everything comes from our own website
All the items above are first-party: they are set by egyptiatours.com. Our fonts, images and scripts are served from our own website, so opening a page does not tell a font service, a content network or a social network that you visited. If you choose “Continue with Google” or “Sign in with Apple”, you leave our website for the sign-in page of that provider, and that provider’s own cookie rules apply while you are on its page; we receive only what the Privacy Policy describes.
6. How to remove or block them
You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser’s settings, and you can set your browser to block cookies. Because every item in this notice is needed for a function, blocking them has consequences: without the sign-in cookies you cannot use your account, without the remembered device you will be asked for a code each time, and without the invitation cookie a booking may not be credited to the friend or partner who invited you. Signing out removes the sign-in cookies; closing the tab removes the session storage.
7. Changes and questions
We review this notice whenever we change how the website works. The version and date at the top of the page show which version you are reading. Questions about this notice or about cookies: info@egyptiatours.com.
|---|---|---|
| wordpress_logged_in_…، wordpress_sec_…
موضع الصفحة (egy_live_y، egy_live_u).
