Rewards Terms

These Rewards Terms set out how EGYPTIA Rewards works: how credits are earned, what they are worth, how and when they can be used, how inviting a friend is rewarded, when credits expire and when they can be corrected. They apply to every traveller who holds an EGYPTIA account, and they sit alongside the Booking Terms and the Cancellation and Refund Policy. Where these terms are silent, the Booking Terms apply; where a mandatory consumer law gives you a better result, the law applies.

1. The programme

EGYPTIA Rewards is run by KEMETIA for Touristic Services, trading as EGYPTIA, Egypt. Taking part is free and automatic: every traveller account has a rewards wallet, which you can see at any time on the Rewards page of your account, together with the history of every credit added, used, returned or expired, and the reason for each.

100 credits are worth one USD or EUR on an eligible booking in that currency. Credits have no fixed currency of their own: the same credits can be used on a booking in US dollars or in euros, at that rate, in the currency of the booking.

Credits are loyalty value, not money. They are not a deposit, a voucher for cash or a balance held for you. They cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for cash, sold, given as security, transferred or moved to another account, and they are not inherited. They exist only in the wallet of the account that earned them.

2. Eligible bookings

An eligible booking is a booking for an EGYPTIA journey made in your own account, paid to EGYPTIA’s bank account, and accepted under the Booking Terms.

3. Earning credits on your own trips

After you complete an eligible trip, you earn five credits for each USD or EUR 1 of money actually paid for it. A trip is completed when the journey has taken place and the booking has been closed as completed in our records, which normally happens within a few days of your return.

• Credits are earned only once the trip is completed. Paying a deposit, paying the balance or receiving a booking confirmation does not earn credits by itself, because a booking can still be cancelled before the journey.
• Credits are earned only on money actually received by EGYPTIA for the trip. No credits are earned on the part of a booking that was paid with credits, on money that was refunded, or on amounts that were never paid.
• Amounts are counted in the currency paid. A trip paid USD 2,400 earns 12,000 credits; a trip paid EUR 2,400 also earns 12,000 credits.

4. Using credits

Credits can be used to pay part of a new eligible booking, within these limits:

• At most 20% of the eligible booking’s price can be paid with credits.
• Credits are used only on the balance, after the deposit has been paid and verified. They never pay or reduce the 25% deposit, which must always be paid by bank transfer, because the deposit is what holds your place with our hotels and suppliers.
• Credits are applied in your account on the payment page of the booking, which shows the effect on the balance before you confirm. Once applied, they are recorded against that booking.
• Credits you cannot use, because of the 20% limit or because you have no booking yet, simply stay in your wallet until you use them or until they expire under section 6. No cash or other value is paid for unused credits at any time, including when an account is closed.

5. Inviting friends

Your account has a personal invitation link on the Rewards page. When a new traveller you invited completes their first eligible EGYPTIA trip, you earn 5,000 credits and they earn 2,500 credits, on top of the normal credits they earn on their trip. Both rewards are added when that first trip is completed.

• A new traveller is a person who has not travelled with EGYPTIA before; the reward is tied to their first eligible trip.
• Only completing a first eligible trip qualifies. Clicking the link, signing up, sending a booking request, booking or paying alone does not.
• Each new traveller can have only one inviter. When someone opens several invitation links, the first valid link they used counts, for 30 days from that first visit.
• Self-referrals, invitations to yourself through another email address, duplicate or invented accounts, and bookings or payments made only to obtain a reward do not qualify.
• Please share your link honestly and never present yourself as acting for EGYPTIA.

The partner programme for travel agencies and other businesses is separate from EGYPTIA Rewards: partners earn commission under their own written agreement, not credits, and a booking that comes through a partner does not also earn an invitation reward.

6. Expiry

Credits do not expire one by one. Instead, all the credits in a wallet expire together after 12 months in a row without qualifying activity. Qualifying activity is any of these: completing an eligible trip, completing a referral under section 5, or using credits on a booking. Each of these restarts the 12 months for the whole wallet.

Signing in, browsing the website, sharing your link or paying a deposit does not restart the 12 months. The Rewards page of your account shows your balance and the full history of your wallet, so that you can see when your last qualifying activity took place.

7. Cancellations, refunds and corrections

When a booking on which you used credits is cancelled, the credits used on it go back to your wallet in proportion to the part of the booking that is cancelled, under the expiry rule in section 6; the money part is handled under the Cancellation and Refund Policy. If EGYPTIA cancels the booking, all the credits used on it go back.

EGYPTIA may correct or remove credits that arose from a refund, a payment reversal, a duplicate account, fraud, abuse of these terms or a system error. Every correction is recorded with its reason in your wallet history, and you can ask us about it.

8. Closing your account

If you close your account or ask us to delete it, the credits in the wallet end with it and cannot be paid out or moved.

9. Changes to the programme

We may change these terms or end the programme by publishing a new version on this page with its date. Changes apply from the date we publish them. They do not change what an already accepted booking received, and credits that are already in your wallet keep their value of 100 credits to one USD or EUR.
